REMIX Summer Spotlight: Black Coming-of-Age Stories

Aug. 20–25, 2021

The coming-of-age stories featured in this series highlight Black characters who experience hardship but retain the ability and the fervent desire to imagine abundant futures. The hopelessness and violence of last summer demands a counter-narrative and so this program exists as a balm and a reclamation of summertime for stories of Black youthfulness, heartache, growth, and freedom. —Saidah Russell, Film Programmer
