Wildcat

Q&A with directors Melissa Lesh and Trevor Beck Frost, moderated by JBFC curator-in-chief Ryan Harrington

Winner of multiple film festival Audience Choice awards, Wildcat follows the emotional and inspiring story of a young veteran on his journey into the Amazon. Once there, he meets a young woman running a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center, and his life finds new meaning as he is entrusted with the life of an orphaned baby ocelot. What was meant to be an escape from life turns out to be an unexpected journey of love, discovery, and healing.

Director Melissa Lesh was a JBFC Focus on Nature Artist-in-Residence, and this documentary was edited in part at the JBFC Media Arts Lab.

"The South American ocelot that is at the center of this tale of animal rescue and liberation will attract audiences, but the human characters in this saga hold at least as much appeal."
Stephen Farber, The Hollywood Reporter
