Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

A hilarious and cutting satire of the ever-ubiquitous musician biopic, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story follows legendary rocker Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly) on a long and winding road to music stardom. As Dewey perseveres through childhood tragedy, changing musical styles, an addiction to nearly every drug known, and bouts of uncontrollable rage, he finds his voice and writes the music that transformed a dimwitted country boy into the greatest American rock star who never lived.

"This gleeful skewering of American popular music works because of the talents of director Jake Kasdan and a cast led by John C. Reilly."
Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles TImes
"Walk Hard isn't merciless (except for maybe one wicked sequence with the Beatles), and that's because it so loves what it's sending up: the pleasure, ego, and sheer exhaustion of what happens behind the music."
Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly

This film is part of the Sounds of Summer series.
