The JBFC is excited to present a series of FREE live musical performances in Take 3 Wine Bar and Café in conjunction with our annual Sounds of Summer series. Acoustic performances, programmed as a prelude to different film screenings, will be hosted every Thursday from 5:30pm to 7:00pm throughout the Sounds of Summer run. Live music presented by A-sides with Jon Chattman (IG: @asidesjonchattman).
Featuring the following musicians:
July 2nd – Nick Chiapparino (Before Metallica: Some Kind of Monster):
Nick Chiapparino is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and seasoned live performer. His EP, “Letting Go of Who I Was Before”, chronicling the dissolution of a long term relationship, is his first foray into solo artistry outside of the world of his band Plane Station. He wears his influences on his sleeve. Timeless artists like Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell inform his approach to confessional songwriting and serve as a bridge to his modern, song first approach to music.
July 9th – Dan Zlotnick:
Dan Zlotnick, often called “the Americana voice of Westchester County, New York,” creates music that feels as comforting as the family photo on your wall and as soul-baring as the stories you’d share with close friends over a warm meal. Dan’s shows are wide-ranging, including engaging storytelling, serious blues-rock guitar chops, and a palette of sounds that stretch across the Americana spectrum. July 16th – Lauren Mian (Before Amazing Grace):
New York based alternative folk artist, producer and songwriter Lauren Mian combines modern sounds with traditional folk elements to share her experiences of life, love and all else. Through warm vocal tones, intricate acoustic guitar playing, and captivating, intimate storytelling, Lauren has made waves in the NY indie music scene with her “granola girl sophista-folk.”
July 23rd – Leo Sawikin:
Leo Sawikin’s soulful explorations of life’s highs and lows, of love’s exuberance and humbling loss, take listeners on achingly familiar journeys. Recently, Leo has toured the country opening solo for fellow singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin. When he’s not on the road, Leo and his 5-piece band are reverberating through NYC’s notable small clubs and sought-after secret house parties. If you’re lucky enough to catch them, you’ll be treated to a classic pop sensibility draped in indie robes.
July 30th – Eric Rabasca (Before Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It):
Erik Rabasca is a musician, producer, singer/songwriter and founder of the independent label Highest Frequency Records, currently in its 10th year. He newest solo album, New Scrolls, will be released in June 2026, sounding like Bob Marley and Tom Waits going alt-country. As a soloist, Rabasca fuses a wide range of styles -from folk, jazz and indie to reggae, soul and country- creating something uniquely his own. August 6th – Jake Albi (Before Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story)

August 13 – Alex Cano (pictured – Before Köln 75):
Alex Cano is a nationally touring Rock/Americana artist hailing from New York’s Hudson Valley. Known for his rich baritone and soaring, gritty rock vocals, Cano’s sound lives at the crossroads of high octane, blues driven rock ’n’ roll and vulnerable Americana balladry.
August 20 – Christina Picciano (Before Teaches of Peaches):
Rooted in the raw energy of NYC punk with a heavy dose of ‘90s alternative rock, Christina’s music is an ode to queerness, resistance, and identity. A force on electric guitar and vocals, she also provides a range of instrumentation on her recordings.
August 27 – Chanese Elife (Before Les Blank Shorts):
Chanese Elifé is a Harlem-born, NYC-based one-woman band, singer-songwriter, and sound healer. Known for playing over 40 instruments, she blends genres like blues, soul, and gospel.
September 3 – Traveling Medicine Man by Luke Havranek (Before Stepping into the Unknown: Films from the Bob Dylan Center):
Luke Havranek, a Yonkers native, has been performing music for the better part of two decades in and around the Westchester area. His musical resume includes a variety of genres including punk, ska, reggae, blues, hip-hop, country, and funk bands. Most recently, Luke has returned to a more organic project: Luke Havranek’s Traveling Medicine Show. In this newest act, he has revived the concept of the one-man band in a way that has not quite been done before. Havranek mixes the multiple genres he has polished throughout the years effortlessly into a set that has something for everyone.
