Tony

Opens August 21—Preview Screening on August 13

The latest from writer-director Matt Johnson (Blackberry, Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie) dramatizes a pivotal summer in the life of a young Anthony Bourdain, played by Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers). A wayward and reckless young man dreaming of becoming a writer (described by Bourdain in his best-selling memoir Kitchen Confidential as a boy “badly in need of a good ass-kicking”), Anthony stumbles into a job at a fast-paced Provincetown restaurant led by a demanding chef (Antonio Banderas). The experience changes the course of his life.

Cousins Maine Lobster truck is coming to the Burns on Sunday, Aug. 23 to celebrate opening weekend of Tony. Stop by before or after a screening on Sunday, Aug. 23 between 12:30-4:00 pm for buttery lobster rolls, warm Connecticut-style favorites, lobster tacos, creamy lobster bisque, and more of your New England favorites.

The truck will be parked at the JBFC Media Arts Lab (405 Manville Road) which is a one-minute walk away from the JBFC Theater. Plus, parking is free throughout Pleasantville on Sundays, so stop by and make a day of it!

"Sessa is up to the task of finding both the deep uncertainty and brash confidence in this complex young man, sometimes in the same beat."
Brian Tallerico, RogerEbert.com
"Johnson recognizes how this, at heart, is a coming-of-age story about a rising star who’s learning to be unburdened by a future that’s better than he could ever imagine."
David Ehrlich, IndieWire
