Bottle Shock

Join us for a Special Wine Tasting at the Take 3 Wine Bar & Café

Paris-based wine expert Steven Spurrier (Alan Rickman) heads to California in search of cheap wine that he can use for a blind taste test in the French capital. Stumbling upon the Napa Valley, the stuck-up Englishman is shocked to discover a winery turning out top-notch chardonnay. Determined to make a name for himself, he sets about getting the booze back to Paris… setting in motion a chain of events which will lead to the controversial 1976 wine-tasting known today as “The Judgement of Paris.”

Presented in partnership with Wine Enthusiast, we are thrilled to present this special screening—followed by a private wine tasting event featuring varietals from the film—in the JBFC’s Take 3 Wine Bar & Café, led by Marshall Tilden, Chief Revenue & Education Officer at Wine Enthusiast.

"Bottle Shock is more than the story. It is also about people who love their work, care about it with passion and talk about it with knowledge."
Roger Ebert, New York Post
