Sounds of Summer: New Music Documentaries

July 6–Aug. 25, 2016

Everyone will find something to love in our summer music film festival, featuring a selection of incredible artists from around the world in the best of new music films (and some great old classics). Plus, WFUV’s Rita Houston joins us to host a tribute to David Bowie and Ziggy Stardust, we celebrate Prince with Purple Rain, and spotlight David Byrne with his newest film project Contemporary Color and in Jonathan Demme’s classic Stop Making Sense. Join us for a deeper look at the intriguing Korla Pandit, Hot Jazz with the incomparable Vince Giordano, a live performance of Carter family music by the Shovel Ready String Band with The Winding Stream, and much more!
