At our Media Arts Lab, the JBFC offers innovative courses for adults in media, documentary and fiction film production, screenwriting, acting, and so much more.
This fall, we are pleased to offer Acting Technique, a ten-week intensive designed to awaken the actor within you, and Writing the Short Screenplay, an eight-week screenwriting and plot structure workshop where students will explore three-act story structure and all aspects of the screenwriting craft including character, dialogue, sound design, and more.

In Acting Technique, discover (or recover!) the actor within you through the gift of technique. Using scripts, script analysis, and other unique exercises, you will be on your feet with a sense of play on day one.

Join us for Writing the Short Screenplay, an intensive, eight-week screenwriting and plot structure workshop with NYU Professor and screenwriter Rob Morton. We’ll explore three-act story structure and all aspects of the screenwriting craft including character, dialogue, sound design, and more.
