Miracle on 34th Street is a Christmas classic that portrays an old man (going by the name of Kris Kringle) filling in for a slightly tipsy Santa in Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day parade. From this Kringle becomes a success and he soon starts appearing regularly at Macy’s main store in Manhattan. Kringle surprises many by claiming that he really is Santa Claus, which leads to a court case to determine his mental health and his authenticity. This movie is such an immense part of the holidays for me and I remember watching it when I was little and imagining if someone I knew was Santa. This really impacted me as a child because it allowed me to believe anything I wanted could be true. At first this movie may seem like your typical holiday movie. However, if you look at it from a different perspective and zoom out a bit there is a whole other side just waiting to be seen. For instance miracles could be real.
