JBFC Camp, Grades 5-6

Entering Grades 5–6

Our exciting new camp offers a fresh approach to summertime creating. With two alternating weeklong programs—Viewing & Doing and On the Set—kids will enjoy rich opportunities to learn about media from the inside out and make a short film…and they’ll enjoy every minute!

For complete details, visit our Summer Informational Page

Viewing and Doing

Learn about media from the inside out through the JBFC’s Viewing & Doing program! Learn to watch feature films the way a director does (and write reviews!) and explore a different type of media—including animation, film, sound, and gaming—each day. In addition, you’ll participate in film-related challenges and activities as you work together in groups.

Dates: June 29–July 3, July 20–24, Aug. 3–7

On the Set

Time to make a movie! Campers write, direct, film, and edit a short collaborative film in a professional environment. Working in a group, you’ll learn to pitch and develop ideas, storyboard, design light and sound, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro CC. This filmmaking immersion is an opportunity to see a short project through from concept to completion.

Dates: July 6–10, July 27–31, Aug. 10-14
