JBFC To Receive $30,000 Grant From The National Endowment For The Arts
Funding will support the Power of Film Initiative
The Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) is pleased to announce that it will receive a $30,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a roster of 2025 film programs. The grant will support Power of Film, a collection of curated series—REMIX: The Black Experience in Film, Media, and Art; Community Matters: Now More Than Ever; Nuestro Cine; and Mental Health and Wellness. Power of Film brings awareness to important issues, encourages cross-cultural awareness, and inspires social change.
The NEA will award 1,127 Grants for Arts Projects awards nationwide totaling more than $31.8 million as part of the recent announcement of fiscal year 2025 grants. “The NEA is proud to continue our nearly 60 years of supporting the efforts of organizations and artists that help to shape our country’s vibrant arts sector and communities of all types across our nation,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD. “It is inspiring to see the wide range of creative projects taking place, including Jacob Burns Film Center’s Power of Film.”
“We are deeply honored to receive renewed support from the NEA,” said JBFC Executive Director Mary Jo Ziesel. “This grant enables us to continue creating meaningful programs that enrich lives, foster creativity, and provide a platform for diverse voices. We remain committed to leveraging the arts to bring people together and to make storytelling an integral part of our community’s cultural fabric.”
