Nuestro Cine 2024

Jan. 30–Feb. 13, 2024

Nuestro Cine is a new series that will go beyond man-made borders to explore the beauty and expansiveness of the Latine experience. The series will showcase films on a variety of different topics and stories from Latin American and U.S. Latine directors. This first selection is a spotlight on women directors from the U.S., Cuba, Chile, Brazil, and Mexico. Their films play between the boundaries of magical realism, harsh reality, documentary, and fiction. Although the films are vastly different at first glance, each tells a story about the changing nature of our environment, women’s roles in our cultures, and our connections to each other. We hope you will join us for this cross-country journey through the past, present, and possible futures, with Jacob Burns Film Center Senior Film Programmer Monica Castillo on hand to introduce each film.
