In Alfred Hitchcock’s Academy Award-winning adaption of Daphne du Maurier’s classic novel, a timid young woman (Joan Fontaine) meets and falls in love with a wealthy widower (Laurence Olivier) in Monte Carlo. After a whirlwind romance and wedding, she travels to her new English country estate, but finds her joy short-lived when she discovers that Rebecca—her husband’s first wife—exerts a ghostly hold over everything there.
