Rear Window

Part of our Cinema Studies program

A photographer in a wheelchair spies on his neighbors from his Greenwich Village courtyard apartment window, and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder, despite the skepticism of his fashion-model girlfriend.

Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window will be accompanied by a lecture from Dr. Sheril Antonio, Associate Arts Professor in the Department of Art and Public Policy and the Senior Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives at New York University.

"Rear Window lovingly invests in suspense all through the film, banking it in our memory, so that when the final payoff arrives, the whole film has been the thriller equivalent of foreplay."
Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
