David Crosby: Remember My Name

Q&A with director A.J. Eaton, moderated by JBFC Board President Janet Maslin

In celebration of David Crosby’s music and legacy, we’re bringing A.J. Eaton’s documentary to the big screen, with the director joining us in person for a post-screening Q&A!

Sitting with Crosby for numerous interviews and following the legendary musician on the road, Eaton gives viewers an all-access pass to the outspoken iconoclast, listening to his ruminations on life, career, mistakes, regrets, and what keeps him motivated to get back up on stage. Eaton captures the mercurial singer-songwriter at his most vulnerable with a compassionate sense of curiosity.

“An unflinching close-up, utterly absorbing and all the more affecting for its searing honesty in showing a man who's gone through the fire and is willing to show the burns.”
Liz Thomson, The Arts Deck
"Crosby presents a reflective, irascible, observant and irresistibly candid figure in a documentary that ostensibly chronicles one of his many comeback tours but becomes something far more introspective.”
Ann Hornaday, Washington Post

A.J. Eaton is a filmmaker with a unique background in narrative, documentary, and music production. His love of music and movies was sparked after watching his folk-musician father write a song for a PBS documentary. Later, Eaton earned a political-science degree and became interested in stories of activism and democracy while working on a number of progressive political campaigns.
