But I'm A Cheerleader

Introduction by JBFC Pride Series Curator Chris Holliday

Megan (Natasha Lyonne) considers herself a typical American girl. She excels in school and cheerleading, and she has a handsome football-playing boyfriend, even though she isn’t that crazy about him. So she’s stunned when her parents decide she’s gay and send her to True Directions, a boot camp meant to alter her sexual orientation. While there, Megan meets a rebellious and unashamed teen lesbian, Graham (Clea DuVall). Though Megan still feels confused, she starts to develop feelings for Graham.

Ticket price includes free entry to the annual JBFC Pride Parking Lot Party—with food trucks, bar, and DJ from 5.00–7.00 pm in the Media Arts Lab parking lot (405 Manville Rd).

Join us after the screening in the Take 3 Wine Bar & Cafe on the third floor to continue the conversation!

"This is one light comedy whose seriousness, hours later, lingers in the mind."
