Toso and Çao are Turkish brothers who live and work in the remote province of Kars in North East Turkey, known for its hot summers and harsh winters. These successful, outgoing men are happily married to strong women, loving fathers and grandfathers, and both live ordinary lives despite the fact that they are deaf. Filmmakers Taylan and Erol Mintas follow their Kurdish cousins’ lives for four years to create an intimate, carefully observed film about these two extraordinary men as they work and struggle to live and survive like all men in the stunningly beautiful but unforgiving landscape.
