Maya Goldwasser is a talented and extremely successful Israeli choreographer, devoted wife of an official at the Israeli Ministry of Justice, and caring mother of two teenagers. Her life seems perfect, but she is being torn apart on the inside by a dark secret she’s kept from everyone for over 20 years: Maya was born Nadia, to a Palestinian family. Just after high school, she fell in love with Nimer, a PLO activist, and despite her family’s protests, the two married and moved to England. Soon Nimer was arrested and Nadia was left alone. She eventually made her way back to Israel, assumed the identity of a young Jewish woman, and was able to begin again. But now Nimer has reappeared, and Maya is forced to deal with a wrenching identity conflict. Israel Critics’ Forum Award for Best Feature Film—Jerusalem Film Festival 2015.
