A Beautiful Mind

Presented on 35mm—Q&A with Ron Howard on August 26

Ron Howard’s Academy Award-winning film is inspired by events in the life of John Forbes Nash Jr. and is based, in part, on the biography A Beautiful Mind by Sylvia Nasar. A mathematical genius, Nash (Russell Crowe) made an astonishing discovery early in his career and stood on the brink of international acclaim; but as the handsome and arrogant mathematician becomes entangled in a mysterious conspiracy, his life takes a nightmarish turn, and he soon finds himself on a painful and harrowing journey of self-discovery.

Ticket Pricing:
August 24 screening: $11 (members), $16 (nonmembers)
August 26 screening with Ron Howard Q&A: $30 (members), $35 (nonmembers)

"The film makes more apparent than ever that Howard is quite underrated as a filmmaker, possibly because he's been hidden in full view in the mainstream for so long."
Jay Carr, Boston Globe
"Consistently engrossing as an unusual character study and as a trip to the mysterious border-crossing between rarified brilliance and madness, this serious-minded but lively film is distinguished by an exceptional performance by Russell Crowe."
Todd McCarthy, Variety
