They’re Back!

By JBFC Marketing Volunteer Dotty Battel

Edina and Patsy, the hilarious and decadent female characters in the smash TV Britcom Absolutely Fabulous, which ran for 20 years (1992-2012), are back—this time on the big screen. They’re older, no wiser, but just as outrageous! Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie opens here on July 22. Tickets are on sale now.

For those of you who are not familiar with “AbFab,” here is a brief tutorial: Edina Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders), a heavy-drinking, drug-abusing PR agent, spends her time chasing bizarre fads in a desperate attempt to stay young and hip. She is joined in her quest by her BFF, magazine editor Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley). The series “was an outrageous satire on fashion, fame, aging, motherhood, friendship, family and any other highflying cultural balloon that deserved a good poke with a Louboutin stiletto.” (Wall Street Journal)

The film is a romp. Patsy and Edina are on the run in the south of France after accidentally knocking Kate Moss into the Thames during a red carpet party. What follows is “a non-stop torrent of politically-incorrect humour. Nobody is safe and no target is off limits.”(David Edwards, Daily Mirror)

Enjoy this clip—it’s sure to put a smile on your face—then come see Absolutely Fabulous at the JBFC!
