Docs Without Borders

Documentaries are built to transcend. To transport, convey, move. They translate reality into works of art and exploration. Through documentary film we can have access to places, times, people, and perspectives that might be otherwise unavailable. The best of them honor the inherent uniqueness of their subjects by honing an ingenuity of form. The results heighten our senses, open our hearts, and move us profoundly.

Docs Without Borders is a showcase for the most exciting new nonfiction films from around the world. There are no limitations in terms of subject, form, length, language or country of origin, just a prevailing commitment to the art of the real, and to the joys and virtues of curiosity. This inaugural season of the series takes us from Armenia to Iran, from China to Israel and beyond, and form-shifts from immersive reportage to poetic meditations, intimate profiles, observational exposés, and comedy. Each screening will be introduced by Director of Film Curation & Programming Eric Hynes, and most will be followed by Q&As with the filmmakers.
