Filmcraft Studio
Ready to take your filmmaking further? Filmcraft Studio is the next step for students who have completed Filmcraft 101 (High School) and want to keep creating, experimenting, and refining their craft. Designed as a repeatable studio experience, this course invites returning filmmakers to develop new projects each semester while deepening their technical skills and creative voice.
In this hands-on, project-driven class, students will move beyond the basics to focus on intentional storytelling, advanced camera and lighting techniques, and more sophisticated editing workflows. Working in small teams and supported by an instructor-mentor, students will pitch ideas, solve creative challenges, and bring original films from concept to screen. Each session offers fresh prompts, new constraints, and expanded creative freedom—making it a course students can take again and again.
Throughout the program, students will produce at least one fully realized short film and have the opportunity to experiment across genres and roles. The course culminates in a celebratory screening for family and friends, highlighting each student’s growth and creative evolution.

CampDoc
We are excited to partner with CampDoc, a third party program we will be using to collect and consolidate student registration information in order to streamline the registration process, and enhance the parent and guardian experience while your child is participating in our program(s). CampDoc will give parents and guardians full access to their own participant portal which they can log into at any time to view course details and information, and previously submitted documents.
Once a course has been purchased on the JBFC website, an email from CampDoc will follow within a few days with instructions on how to create a CampDoc account (if you do not have one already) and submit additional required registration information, such as an updated immunization record, a list of allergies, names of individuals who are authorized to pick your child up, doctor and insurance information, etc., and the deadlines by which this information must be received. We look forward to seeing your child this year.
