Editing 101
Editing 101 introduces high school students to the art and craft of video editing. Through hands-on projects, students will explore the principles that make films and videos compelling while developing practical skills in Adobe Premiere Pro. Topics include audio synchronization, keyframe animation for text and graphics, editing workflows, pacing, and storytelling. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the skills and confidence to edit a wide range of video content, from social media videos to short narrative films.

Instructor
Cassidy McKenna
Cassidy McKenna is an aspiring filmmaker based in White Plains, New York. She is currently interested in directing and producing projects within the horror and comedy genres. Cas is currently an instructor at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Westchester, N.Y. where she teaches film production to students ages 10 through 17. Cassidy hopes to continue inspiring young filmmakers throughout her career as a creative and when possible always tries to provide a creative opportunity for past students and fellow community members.
CampDoc
We are excited to partner with CampDoc, a third party program we will be using to collect and consolidate student registration information in order to streamline the registration process, and enhance the parent and guardian experience while your child is participating in our program(s). CampDoc will give parents and guardians full access to their own participant portal which they can log into at any time to view course details and information, and previously submitted documents.
Once a course has been purchased on the JBFC website, an email from CampDoc will follow within a few days with instructions on how to create a CampDoc account (if you do not have one already) and submit additional required registration information, such as an updated immunization record, a list of allergies, names of individuals who are authorized to pick your child up, doctor and insurance information, etc., and the deadlines by which this information must be received. We look forward to seeing your child this year.
