Curriculum Aligned Screenings
Are you looking to screen a specific film that connects with your curriculum? The JBFC Theater is now available for teachers to bring their students for a private screening to engage in film and provide a movie theater experience. While our Education programs offer a wide variety of unique film programming, we understand that sometimes teachers are looking for a place to choose and screen a film that aligns with what they are teaching in their classrooms.
Choose the JBFC to be an extension of your classroom through our state-of-the-art cinemas and supportive environment, which encourages critical thinking and community building.
You may choose to see a film that is already scheduled to screen at our Theater during the requested time, or inquire about the availability of a different film not currently offered. Films that are not currently offered are subject to licensing availability.
Some examples of past film screenings are:
Asteroid City
Coco
Encanto
Killers of the Flower Moon
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Schindler’s List
Wicked
…and more!
And what’s a movie without classic movie snacks? An optional add-on of our concession bundle—exclusive to these screenings only—is available upon request. This bundle includes one small popcorn, one bottle of water, and a choice of one candy per person.
Curriculum aligned screenings must take place in the mornings of in-school days (Mon-Fri) and are contingent on the availability of the film licensing and our theaters. All requests must have a minimum of 25 attendees and accepted payment methods are check or credit card only. These screenings are limited to teachers and students in elementary schools, high schools, and colleges only. To inquire about scheduling a screening or get pricing information, please email us at education@burnsfilmcenter.org or call 914.773.7663 ext. 7.
