To fully appreciate the art of film, you must know the key elements of film language: mise-en-scene, cinematography, editing, and sound. Taught by film studies scholar and JBFC faculty  Theresa Dawson you’ll explore these concepts while watching clips and full-length foreign language gems.  Learn, watch, and read all about them in this engaging course, which will teach you to watch movies the way a filmmaker does.

  • Learn visual vocabulary and gain exposure to some of the most influential makers in cinema.
  • Read film analyses and criticism to deepen your knowledge.
