Elements of Film: The Oscars®

Continuing by popular demand! These three-part seminars explore various elements of the art of film and storytelling. They are intended for filmgoers—though makers will enjoy them as well. Explore our other seminars, Elements of Film: Creative Nonfiction, Sound, and Screenwriting.

Elements of Film: The Oscars
Each week will focus on an award category. JBFC faculty member and NYU professor Rob Morton will discuss the nominees in screenwriting (original and adapted), JBFC faculty member and NYU professor Diane Hodson will explore cinematography, and JBFC Faculty member, editor, writer, director and cinematographer John Koch will take on editing. They’ll discuss the elements Academy members consider before they vote and show clips from current nominees and past winners.
