Elements of Film: Early Feminist Voices in International Film

Elements of Film: Early Feminist Voices in International Film

Each month will include a screening of an iconic narrative film from emerging international feminist filmmakers of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. These filmmakers broke new ground in film production, spectatorship practices, and the representation of women on screen. JBFC adjunct faculty member Karen Sloe Goodman, well-known as the host of Preview Club and former member of the programming department, will be your guide on this tour of cinema that spans continents and narrative forms, all while engaging conversation about the shifting “gaze,” and the free expression of desire and fantasy by women filmmakers.

This seminar will take place at the JBFC Theater
