Pleasantville, NY – May 15, 2019 — The Jacob Burns Film Center, a nonprofit cultural arts center, has been awarded a $20,000 Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in support of the JBFC’s Creative Culture program, which provides 10-month-long fellowship experiences for emerging filmmakers looking to produce two short film projects in a collaborative community. Fellows receive access to production equipment and space, mentorship, and the JBFC’s industry network.
Upon receiving news about the grant, JBFC Executive Director Edie Demas said, “It is a significant honor to be recognized by the NEA. This grant will help a diverse and talented group of filmmakers hone their craft and deepen meaningful connections through Creative Culture fellowships and residencies.”
