Jacob Burns Film Center Partners with Pubstreet to Cook Up Tasty Film to Table Series

Pleasantville, NY – March 6, 2019 Your senses will come alive when the Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC), a nonprofit cultural arts center and one of the most successful suburban film houses in the country, continues its beloved Film to Table series, with special events throughout the year that will include a food-focused film screening followed by a special tasting reception. The series is presented in partnership with Pubstreet, an American comfort food eatery in Pleasantville. Pubstreet’s Executive Chef Mogan Anthony will create unique menus inspired by the films. Film to Table is made possible through generous support from Elisabeth and Gary Schonfeld. The exclusive beer sponsor is Captain Lawrence Brewing Company.

The 2019 Film to Table opening night event is March 20 at 7:00, with a screening of Tampopo, an off-beat comedy featuring several intersecting stories all related to food. Tsutomu Yamazaki (Kagemusha) plays Goro, a truck driver who helps a young widow named Tampopo (frequent Itami collaborator Nobuko Miyamoto) improve her noodle restaurant. The film was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 1988 Independent Spirit Awards. After the screening, ticket buyers will head upstairs to the Jane Peck Gallery to enjoy a delectable ramen-inspired tasting menu, specially designed for Tampopo by Pubstreet Executive Chef Mogan Anthony.
