Zola (newcomer Taylour Paige), a Detroit waitress, strikes up a new friendship with a customer, Stefani (Riley Keough), a sex worker who entices her to join a weekend of pole dancing for cash. But instantly it transforms into a 48-hour odyssey involving a nameless pimp, an idiot boyfriend, some Tampa gangsters, and lots of leering men amidst unexpected, unwanted adventures in this edgy and wild tale. It’s brilliant indie filmmaking that’s bold, brash, graphic, steamy, violent, and somehow, often funny—a totally original talent.
