Based on a true story, this taut, edgy film delivers a thrilling coming-of-age tale. It follows Solheil, a 15-year-old Iranian Jewish teenager, the new kid in a predominantly Muslim Berlin neighborhood, who joins a street gang that turns out to harbor anti-Semitic beliefs. Caught between hiding his identity to fit in or losing it all to live openly as a Jew, there is one thing he knows for sure: His next move will change his life forever. Wet Dog raises questions of cultural diversity and religious identity, and examines how they intersect with friendship, especially during the raw teenage years.
