In a final bid at financial success, show business has-been Max Bialystock (Zero Mostel, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum) produces a purposefully abhorrent musical, Springtime for Hitler, on the advice of accountant Leo Bloom (Gene Wilder, Blazing Saddles), who thinks that a flop will make more money than a hit. The Producers remains one of the most hysterical, enduring comedies ever made, and one of the strongest works by writer/director Mel Brooks. 4K restoration.
