When a friendly getaway is revealed to be a “marriage intervention,” four couples are forced to confront what’s really holding them back from finding happiness with each other. A hilarious and poignant look at relationships, humility, and acceptance, The Intervention is “a sharp-tongued and smart observational comedy” (Indiewire) with an excellent ensemble cast (Natasha Lyonne, Jason Ritter, Cobie Smulders, Alia Shawkat) led by the delightfully deadpan Melanie Lynskey (CBS’ Two and a Half Men, HBO’s Togetherness), who received a Special Jury Award for Acting at this year’s Sundance Film Festival for her performance. The Intervention marks the feature directorial debut of actress Clea DuVall (But I’m a Cheerleader, Argo, FX’s American Horror Story), who will join Janet Maslin after the screening for a Q&A.
