The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel recounts the adventures of Gustave H (Ralph Fiennes), a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa (Tony Revolori), the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.

The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, and the battle for an enormous family fortuneall set against the backdrop of a suddenly and dramatically changing continent.

In preparation for the premiere of The Phoenician Scheme on June 6, the JBFC presents Wes Anderson Abroad. Between May 31 and June 5, revisit a selection of Anderson’s internationally focused films, including The Darjeeling Limited, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and The French Dispatch.

"This is one of Anderson’s funniest and most fanciful movies, but perversely enough it may also be his most serious, most tragic and most shadowed by history, with the frothy Ernst Lubitsch-style comedy shot through with an overwhelming sense of loss."
Andrew O'Hehir, Salon

This film is part of the Wes Anderson Abroad series.
