Tony Kushner is an American author, playwright, and screenwriter. He received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play for his play Angels in America (1993), which was adapted into a miniseries. His other acclaimed plays include Slavs, Homebody/Kabul, and Caroline, or Change. In addition to his work for the stage, Kushner contributed screenplays for Steven Spielberg’s films The Fabelmans (2022), West Side Story (2020), Lincoln (2012), and Munich (2005; co-written with Eric Roth). Has been nominated for two Academy Awards and received the National Medal of Arts in 2013.
