The Dressmaker stars Academy Award winner Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs, Titanic) as the beautiful and talented designer Myrtle “Tilly” Dunnage, who decides to take a leave of absence from her exclusive Parisian fashion houses in order to return home to her small town in the Australian outback. Once there, Tilly attempts to right the wrongs of her past while also reconciling with her eccentric mother, played by Academy Award winner Judy Davis (Husbands and Wives, A Passage to India). In the midst of her tumultuous homecoming, Tilly falls in love with the pure-hearted Teddy (Liam Hemsworth, The Hunger Games), and armed with her sewing machine and haute couture style, she transforms the women of the town, exacting sweet revenge on those who did her wrong. Featuring stunning costume design, filmmaker Jocelyn Moorhouse (Proof, How to Make an American Quilt) returns after eighteen years with a charming crowd-pleaser that offers plenty of laughs and has a lot of heart.
