The Cruz Brothers and Miss Malloy

New 4K Restoration!

Brothers Victor, Jose, and Felipe are recent graduates of a local Catholic school, now reveling in their freedom and camaraderie. When the brothers attract the attention of Miss Malloy, she offers them work restoring her Victorian mansion on the Hudson so she can host one last party before she dies. The Cruz Brothers and Miss Malloy is a fresh and exciting discovery—not only is it one of the first films directed by an African-American woman (Kathleen Collins), but it is also one of the of the best celebrations of Puerto Rican culture in the Northeast US.

"This first film by a brilliant multi-talented artist and PhD (Kathleen Collins) is already infused with the wisdom of old age that the filmmaker never got a chance to even see and yet it sparkles with the ripe passionate yearnings of youth, a true lust for life which she always retained."
Dennis Leroy Kangalee, The Luminal Theater
