The Conductor: Program I

Episodes 1-5 (Note: There will be a 15 minute intermission during this program)

From acclaimed director Alon Zingman (Netflix’s TV sensation Stisel) comes the superb Israeli TV series The Conductor. It’s the story of world-renowned musician and orchestra conductor Noah Gamliel, deftly played by Israel’s most acclaimed actor, Lior Ashkenazi (the charismatic bachelor in Karaoke, 2022 JFF). Noah inexplicably abandons fame, fortune, and his beloved girlfriend to return to Israel after 30 years away. Once there, he discovers that the only joy his father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, can find is by singing in the local choir. When Noah decides to take over as choir conductor, he confronts a devastating personal and professional challenge of his own. Touching and beautifully made, The Conductor is not to be missed.

"Touching, compassionate and empathetic. Each member of the choir has his own story and together they create a rich, colorful and emotional mosaic."
