Poster for the film STRANGE WAY OF LIFE

Strange Way of Life

A man (Pedro Pascal) rides a horse across the desert that separates him from Bitter Creek. He comes to visit Sheriff Jake (Ethan Hawke). Twenty-five years earlier, both the sheriff and Silva—the rancher who rides out to meet him—worked together as hired gunmen. Silva visits him with the excuse of reuniting with a friend from his youth, and they do indeed celebrate their meeting. But the next morning, Sheriff Jake reveals that the reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their old friendship….

A pre-recorded conversation (31 m.) with filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar will follow the two films.

Total runtime: 91 m.

"Sweet, subtle stuff with an innate sense of style."
Hannah Strong, Little White Lies
"It’s a provocative movie that brings out the best in both of its leads, and feels like the filmmaker is having fun playing around with these genre tropes, even if he’s not being the least bit ironic in his use of them."
David Fear, Rolling Stone
