Recommended for ages 8 and up

The characters in this collection of award-winning and audience-pleasing films are a determined bunch, unafraid to find their own way, create their own futures, search for happiness, find a way to save the planet, and shoot for the stars. Join these amazing kids as they explore the countryside, cities, and small towns of four countries, and look up at the skies to explore the worlds beyond.

JBFC Kids Activities (from 11 am to 3 pm):

  1. Stop-Motion Animation: Come create original films starring the JBFC Kids creatures using stop-motion animation!
  1. Interactive Time-Lapse Floor Drawing: Grab your favorite colors and bring the JBFC Kids logo and creatures to life in this interactive time-lapse floor design.

*This program will be followed by a short film from JBFC Media Arts Lab students.

Riceballs

A heartwarming story about love, pride and resilience. Since the passing of his Australian wife, Kenji has been doing his best to bring up his only son, Josh. While he is in two minds whether to move back to Japan with Josh, Kenji starts making clumsy Japanese riceballs for his son, with the hope he will remain connected to his cultural heritage. 

The Best Sound in the World
