This well-made drama shines a bright light on post-Tahrir Square Egyptian society, after the hopes for change and equality had faded. Always cheerful despite her situation, Nawara is a housekeeper who’s worked hard for her wealthy employers for years. When they secretly leave the country—a move made by many regime supporters—she is left to look after their villa and pay the price for their actions. An absorbing social critique on the rich/poor divide in Egypt.
