Mia Madre is the story of Margherita (Margherita Buy, The Son’s Room, We Have a Pope), a harried film director trying to juggle the demands of her latest movie and a personal life in crisis. She has cast a charming but conceited American actor (John Turturro, HBO’s The Night Of) as the star of her film but he brings nothing but headaches for her and her crew.
