From Studio Ponoc, the new Japanese animation studio created by veterans of Studio Ghibli, Mary and the Witch’s Flower is a fantasy adventure about a daring red-headed girl, a flying broom, and a mysterious, forbidden flower. Created by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty) and based on the children’s novel The Little Broomstick, it’s about a bored girl who, with the help of some neighborhood cats, gains spectacular magical powers. Though the powers last for one night only, they unlock a trip to Endor College—a school of magic!—and enough action-packed adventures to last a lifetime. Did you like Kiki’s Delivery Service? You’ll love Mary and the Witch’s Flower!

Tickets: $9 (members), $14 (nonmembers), $7.50 (children age 13 and under)
