“One of those classic westerns that has maintained its status by reinventing itself every decade since its release in 1954.” (Chicago Tribune)
Joan Crawford plays Vienna, a hard-nosed saloon owner operating on the outskirts of a small town. Her saloon is frequented by a local gang led by Dancin’ Kid (Scott Brady) and the mysterious Johnny Guitar (Sterling Hayden), a former outlaw and Vienna’s old flame. When the nearby town is robbed and a man killed the townspeople blame Vienna and set their sights on her saloon for revenge.
