Together, these two lively and absorbing documentaries offer a kaleidoscopic portrait of the lives of Israeli women. Ilana Goor: Woman Against the Wind is about the one-of-a-kind 88-year-old painter and sculptor who overcame personal trauma to become an internationally celebrated and successful artist, an outsider in Israel’s artworld who built a museum in her home that has become a pilgrimage site for art lovers.

With a subject that may sound more mundane, the surprisingly entertaining and candid Full Support was filmed entirely in a bra shop in Jaffa. As customers openly share stories about their relationships with their own bodies, from awkward adolescence to old age, the film finds a unique way to reveal the inner lives of a wide range of women, and the bra shop becomes a place for openly sharing an extraordinary range of emotions and experiences.

Don’t miss Ilana Goor: Woman Against the Wind filmmaker Tomer Heymann’s other film in the series, Orna and Ella, screening as part of A Three Course Meal: Three Food Films.

"In her compelling new film Full Support, Michal Cohen proves that a woman's breasts serve as an effective springboard for discussing anything from men, personal upheavals, and even war.”
Nirit Andermann, Haaretz
"“[Ilana Goor: Woman Against the Wind] follows the story of the Israeli artist/designer Ilana Goor as told by her, vividly interwoven with the story of Israeli statehood—the place that stands at the core of her identity. Her life path has been an expression of the collective identity and narrative of the evolution of Israel.”
