A special preview screening and reception! In the early 1960s, Harvard psychology professors Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert began probing consciousness through their experiments with psychedelics. After leaving academia, Leary became the LSD guru (“Turn on, tune in, drop out”), questioning authority and even landing in prison after Nixon called him “the most dangerous man in America.” By contrast, Alpert made his way to India in search of a drug-free high, ultimately becoming Ram Dass, author of Be Here Now and a spiritual teacher for a generation. With interviews spanning 50 years, this remarkably intimate portrait culminates with the friends reuniting for a series of unforgettably curious, affectionate, and engaged end-of-life conversations. Narrated by Robert Redford.
