Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives

Q&A Clive Davis with JBFC Board President Janet Maslin

“Captivating!… Watching the movie is like listening to some ultimate annotated Classic Top 40 playlist.” (Variety)

Legendary musicians Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, Santana, Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow, Patti Smith, Alicia Keys, and Sean “Puffy” Combs all have one thing in common: their paths to stardom began with iconic music executive Clive Davis. In this riveting documentary, director Chris Perkel profiles Davis, whose career spans a remarkable five decades and the start of countless other musical acts, by providing an incredible tour of the most sensational music of the cultural revolution, from the ‘60s to the rise of hip-hop. Fascinating interviews with industry moguls, famous friends, and the charming Davis himself, sprinkled with footage of the musical acts he set in motion, will show you why Aretha Franklin has called him “the greatest record man of all time.”

The Soundtrack of My Life by Clive Davis will be available for sale and signing courtesy of The Village Bookstore.
