Carrie

50th Anniversary Q&A with Amy Irving on October 24

Fifty years after its release, Stephen King’s chilling tale of a young girl with psychic powers pushed to her limits, remains a landmark of American horror. Directed by Brian De Palma, Carrie is the film that helped launch the careers of Amy Irving, Sissy Spacek, and John Travolta.

To celebrate the milestone, join us for a special screening featuring an in-person Q&A with Amy Irving on October 24. On that day, stick around for the Jacob Burn’s tenth annual Halloween Movie Marathon, which will begin with a screening and extended introduction with Amy Irving about The Fury, the second horror collaboration between Amy Irving and Brian De Palma.

This event is Priority Purchase. Members at the Film Buff level and above LOG IN now to purchase tickets. Any remaining tickets will go on sale Thursday, October 8 at noon. Call membership at 914.773.7663, ext 6 to join or upgrade today for the next Priority Purchase!

"Brian De Palma elevates what could have been a trashy exploitation picture into something mitigated by the angry empathy it places in the put-upon outsider."
Wendy Ide, The Times (UK)
"The best scary-funny movie since Jaws - a teasing, terrifying, lyrical shocker, directed by Brian De Palma, who has the wickedest baroque sensibility at large in American movies."
Pauline Kael, The New Yorker
