Amy Irving’s second collaboration with Bruno Baretto is a warm, witty romantic comedy set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Irving stars as Mary Ann, an American widow teaching English, whose life gets tangled up in romantic misadventures with a sophisticated lawyer struggling through a divorce, his humble brother who works as a tailor, and a handsome former soccer star. With a stunning Rio backdrop and heartfelt performances from Irving and a cast of Brazilian favorites, Bossa Nova is a look at the complexities of love.

"Not only is Bossa Nova a lovely romance, but one can say, as one can about few films, that it is restorative as a vacation."
