In 1987, during the dictatorship of Nicolae Ceaușescu, college roommates Otilia (Anamaria Marinca) and Găbița (Laura Vasiliu) seek an illegal abortion for Găbița. Cristian Mungiu’s newest film Fjord, for which he once again earned the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, opens in October.
